This is an introductory fishing class, but we will build upon what you know. All equipment, supplies, snacks, and water will be provided, or you can bring your own. If your equipment needs a tune-up, perhaps we can help you with that.  Come join us! This class is open to all youth 8 to 12 years old. Even though this is a 4-H event, membership in the program is not required.  This is not a drop-off event. A parent or caregiver must stay at the event, and they are encouraged to participate. Please note! Adults who wish to fish need to purchase a Florida Resident Freshwater fishing license, which is available at the DMV (tag office) or at most Wal-Mart stores, and some fishing or sporting goods stores, or online. A FL Resident license is $17.00.  See Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Freshwater Fishing Regulations for more information - Click here.  A limited number of cane poles are available to adults who do not possess a fishing license. About YES! Fishing with 4-H is one of many classes being held as part of the Brevard 4-H Youth Ecology Series or Y.E.S.!, a unique University of Florida / IFAS  Brevard County Extension 4-H program for youth ages 8 to 16. The mission of YES! is to teach and inspire young people to learn about and conserve their natural outdoor environment with a combination of hands-on, classroom, and field activities. Y.E.S.! also invites parents of kids to participate and explore the possibility of leading a club. The goal of YES! is to give young people a broad overview of our Florida ecology, and tangible skills to thrive and participate in nature, as well as an appreciation for the methods of sustaining our fragile ecosystem. Side benefits of the program include having fun, meeting new people, and getting to know some of our local outdoor treasure sites, organizations, and related programs. The Instructor The primary instructor for all YES! classes is Gus Koerner, 4-H Program Assistant in Brevard County. Other experts and partnering organizations are contributing to the program. Come join us at the Annual Space Coast Book Lovers Author Signing Event 2018, being held in beautiful Cocoa Beach, FL on May 31st – June 3rd. We have some amazingly talented authors of all genres sure to provide you with several additions to your TBR list! Our goal is to bring you an intimate event designed to encourage one on one interaction with your favorite authors and to give you the opportunity to discover authors that you have not read yet.  FREE book signing event is on Saturday, June 2nd from 10:00am – 2:00pm. This event has a recommended age of 18+.  Check out our Space Coast Book Lovers Facebook group for updates and a chance to interact with the authors ahead of time. This list is updated frequently, so check back occasionally for the latest roster.  FAQs Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event? An ID is required for Book Worm RSVP, Book Lovers, and Book Fanatic Reader Tickets. ID must match name ticket is registered under - NO EXCEPTIONS. There is no age limit; however, due to some mature content we recommend a 18+ age. What are my transport/parking options getting to the event? Parking is free in the International Palms Resort parking lot.  What can/can't I bring to SCBL2018? Bring a positive attitude and an eagerness to meet your favorite and new to you authors. You can bring already purchased books to be signed; however, they must be validated at registration desk prior to entering the event.  This may delay your entrance in a timely manner.  We do recommend that you limit the books you bring or rotate them out from your hotel room. We encourage you taking pictures and getting swag signed by authors for your memory making items - i.e. photo albums, autograph books, picture frames, etc.  Our authors love signing everything.  Please be courteous when asking for an author's signature and be respectful for a decline of signing body parts.
