Please join us for a seminar exploring how infrared technology can be used to provide non-contact temperature measurement and thermal characterization relevant to a wide range of applications. We'll take a look at next-generation IR camera systems that provide extraordinary abilities to resolve microscopic temperature profiles and capture unique high speed thermal events. We'll also discuss infrared techniques used to conquer common temperature measurement challenges, such as measuring temperature on low emissivity targets. Through demonstrations, you'll get a first-hand look at the new capabilities of calibrated IR cameras and learn how to get the most out of a thermal imaging solution. Discussion Topics Include: Review of theories behind infrared thermography and heat transfer Comparison of thermal and photon-counting IR camera technologies and how they measure temperature Comparison of various IR cameras in regard to sensitivity, spatial resolution, speed, synchronization, and spectral filtering capabilities Discussion of the effects of emission, reflection, and transmission on measurements Applications Reviewed: Electrical Engineering: Microelectronics / PCB inspection, characterization, and failure analysis Civil Engineering: Bridge delamination and NDT on composite materials Bio-Medical Engineering: Medical device characterization Mechanical Engineering: Friction analysis, materials testing, and more General: Applications that benefit from non-contact temperature measurement Check out FLIR upcoming R&D/Science event page to search for events near you.

For 12 years now, Project Inspire has been helping dreams come true for high school juniors and seniors needing additional resources to attend college and thrive while they are there. We are coming together to celebrate with community members and community organizations with a night featuring inspiration, performances, and featured guests making a difference in our communities. This year, we're starting our event with networking and a cocktail hour so our guests can connect with one another while having the chance to explore some of the writing of our scholarship recipients. We also hope to honor first generation college students in the Miami, FL area who have accomplished much when it comes to service or within their careers.  Two years ago, we increased our scholarship amount by 10x! We need $13,000 over the course of 4 years to support our 2015 - 2017 scholarship recipients who each will receive $250 every fall and spring semester for 4 years of their college matriculation, and we're hoping to raise at least $6,000 of that total at this year's annual dinners in Washington, D.C. and Miami, FL.  We currently have scholarship winners who we’re supporting from Eastern High School in Washington, D.C.; Martin Luther King Jr. High School in Lithonia, GA; and scholarship recipients from North Miami Beach Senior High School, Hallandale High School, and Evans High School in Florida. 100% of proceeds from this event will go to ensure our scholarship program continues to support the college and career aspirations of the youth we serve. Tony Roma's Dinner Menu: First course - Choice of 1) Original Classic Potato Soup [With cheddar, bacon, and chives] OR 2) Caesar Salad [With romaine lettuce, roasted tomato, croutons, and basil pesto caesar dressing] Entree - Choice of: 1) World-Famous Baby Back Ribs [A half rack of tender, lean pork ribs basted with Tony Roma's original BBQ sauce] OR 2) Grilled Shrimp Scampi Pasta [Including spicy chipotle-garlic sauce, tomatoes, linguine, asiago cheese, and basil] OR 3) "Not Your Mom's" Fried Chicken [Chicken, gravy, mashed potatoes, and seared garlic green beans] Project Inspire is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization with a mission to empower youth and young adults through powerful personal, educational, and professional opportunities, using the arts as a gateway to achievement. Our programming consists of scholarship dissemination for high school juniors and seniors, empowerment programs serving schools and organizations, and professional development programs for college students and young adults. Through our programs, we work to provide youth with a positive outlet and circle of support to serve as a foundation for future personal, educational, and professional success.
